Water Heater Myths & Misinformation Blog #2

Tankless Water Heaters

In this blog series, we will explore some of the common water heater myths and misinformation that customers frequently call to talk about.

Myth #2: No water storage = no good

This is more misinformation than myth. Many people don’t believe that tankless units will provide enough hot and that a traditional water heater can produce more because it stores hot water. However, since there is no tank for holding water with a tankless unit, this means there is no hot water to run out of. Water is heated as it passes over a heating element to an outlet.

A tankless unit can fill a large soaker tub with ease, whereas a traditional storage tank would likely run out of hot water before the bath is ready. As long as you need hot water, you’ll be able to receive it endlessly with a tankless water heater. Just turn on the tap! With a 40 or 50 gallon hot water tank, that’s your limit before you run out of hot water, but with a tankless it is endless!
