Water Heater Myths & Misinformation Blog #8

Traditional Water Heaters

In this blog series, we will explore some of the common water heater myths and misinformation that customers frequently call to talk about.

Myth #8 – All that is in your water heater is water, which means no cleaning!

This is definitely misinformation. As water travels into your water heater, it brings with it different types of sediment. This can be left in your tank, which eventually causes corroding and leaks.

Luckily, there is a way to clean your water heater which can help prevent this. The answer is to do an annual tank flush! Having your tank flushed helps to get rid of the sediment in the tank, and allows you to refresh your water heater’s life, and the quality of your drinking, bathing, and washing water. Although a tank flush is not exactly like the fountain of youth, it will help you get more bang for your buck and also maintain your water heater’s operational efficiency.
